Hearing God starts with a pure and undivided heart. We open Matthew 5:6 and ask a simple but searching question: How do we actually hear God? Many of us want His voice, yet we struggle to recognize it. The answer is not more information or better methods—it is a pure heart.

We look at the hard heart that develops through murmuring, unbelief, and disobedience, the same pattern that kept Israel wandering in the wilderness. Then we turn to what is required for a hearing ear: making the voice of God vital to us, and exercising that ear through frequency, intensity, and time. There is no substitute—books, conferences, podcasts, or counseling cannot replace direct communion with the Lord.
