David Sleeper

YOUTH Pastor

My christian name is David Michael Sleeper, I was born in November of 96 in the town of Greenville Texas. My early education consisted of a mix of public and homeschooling. I graduated from Quinlan ISD top ten percentile and just shy of an associate's degree. I went on to finish out the associates degree. These days, I’m chipping away at seminary extension courses accredited by South Western Seminary, but administered locally. Most of my theological education was self taught, I’ve watched many hours of sermons and lecture series. Men like R C Sproul, Sinclair Ferguson, Alistair Begg, John MacArthur, Paul Washer and Voddie Baucham have shaped my theology as have institutions like Ligonier, Reformed Theological Seminary and The Master’s seminary—all of which provide free educational material available to those who would seek it.

Aubry Cummings

Worship Leader

Aubry Cummings, born and raised in North East Texas is Shady Grove's  Worship Leader. Aubry has always had a love for much and even played in her schools band from 6th to 12th grade. She has taught herself piano, while being mentored by previous Worship Leader, Missy Ford. Aubry stepped into this role in 2021 and has since fallen in love with having a part in leading the congregation closer to Christ and in worship.

Aubry is married to Colton Cummings, while they have no children yet, they do have a cat that is considered their child for the time being.

Aubry and Colton are excited to see what God will do through their lives at Shady Grove and in their future.

Wendy Ragle

Children's  Coordinator

Living in Hunt County a majority of my life, I have enjoyed returning to a church of strong elders I grew up with, who helped raise me on strong principles, making me who I am today. Shady Grove Baptist has become my second home.

After attending East Texas State University in Commerce, I continued my elementary education, later secondary education, and other curricular studies in east Texas. A teaching job brought me back home to family and cherished friends.

Returning to large family gatherings and legacies of traditions was just what I needed. My husband, two children, loving granddaughter, and myself spend a majority of our time enjoying the beauty of nature and all it has to offer. I enjoy reading, camping, fishing, hiking with my golden retriever, and gardening on family land.

In 2018, I dedicated my life to children's ministry after a traumatic experience. God has ways of working in our lives to draw us to Him.  In the fall of 2022, I joined Shady Grove and was blessed to be able to continue in children's ministry through directing, teaching, mentoring, and fellowship with our community.
I am thankful to worship alongside family, raising up this next generation of children, who will one day fill our shoes. Using the gift of teaching and leading the KidMin team at Shady Grove has brought great pleasure and fellowship to my family and myself.
